Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins and as soon as I cut the top off, which was like 2 inches thick Malachi was afraid of the pumpkin. But he had fun when I started cutting the face out!

Bed Time Woe's

So..... Malachi has discovered that his big boy bed is not like his crib. He is no longer confined by the walls and rules. He has discovered FREEDOM.

Freedom to get out of bed,
Freedom to walk down stairs
Freedom to play at night
Freedom to scream at the door
Freedom to..........Fall asleep in his chair....

I hope he felt a sense of accomplishment, determination or at least control, maybe it was shear exhaustion.

I could not save him from the soar throat he probably had the next morning. Let me tell you my child has a healthy set of lungs, but a very proud mommy did save her baby from the neck ache the next morning.
And what an angel he is. You can't tell in the picture but his legs are curled under his body like a little stink bug, so cute! *Oh I will miss these days.

Pepperoni's and Combat Boots

I think this video pretty much shows my son's amazingness by itself.

So he put on a pair of Auntie Amanda's high heels. When asked if they were boy shoes he immediatly replied "No" and took them off. This was Uncle Kaleb's solution:BOY SHOES!!

Museums and ICEE's

We went to the Don Harrington Discovery Center Today with Nana, Papa and Auntie Lydia.
They had a really cool theater with a dome screen on the ceileing. Malachi and I slept through the black holes movie.
We played with blocks, unsuccessfully tried to recreate the St. Louis arch. We learned about the human body, Malachi is 2'10" tall! and looked at fish, lots of stuffed birds and learned about all kinds of weather. Malachi and Nana created a tornado under water, and Malachi watched a recreation of the earth quake with Papa.
Turns out our bodies are really cool, 30 feet of intestines is a lot of stuff crammed into our little tummies. :)
ICEE's a giant fit through Sams Clun and a three hour nap topped off the afternoon.
We're very glad we got to meet Nana and Papa in Amarillo.

Road Trip

Last night we drove to Amarillo to spend the weekend with Malachi's grandparents and Auntie Lydia. It was a pretty uneventful drive, other than the 20 minutes in the WhataBurger drive through... Is it really that good?? I don't think so.

There was a pretty amazing moon huge and orange! God's creation is so cool!

All in all it was an uneventful trip but a great opportunity to catch up with friends on the phone!

Fiesta

Amanda and I got the kids all ready out the door and to the balloon fiesta without to many issues AND on time. We should have noticed there was something wrong when we didn't run into to much traffic and got into the parking lot for free. As we got to the ticket office they told us no one had to pay anymore...... CANCELLED!!

So......we went to McCall's pumpkin patch. It was windy and rained a couple times but all in all I believe we had lots of fun. Plus we got a HUGE pumpkin for only 5 bucks! *They charge by how wide it is, not how tall!!

Dead Bug Somber Boy

So today Malachi and I took a walk around the neighborhood and ended up at the park down the road. He was playing on the slide when a big black stink bug walks by me. I called him over since he's a boy and boys are supposed to like bugs right? He caught sight of the bug and crouched down and shuffled along slowly gaining on the bug. (This would have been an excellent time to have a phone that has a camera) I could see what was about to happen "Don't".......CRUNCH...."step on the bug..........." Silence and staring smart mom chimes in, "now he's dead" what was I thinking? It's not like he did it on purpose... But! miraculously the bug survives only to face the little foot seconds later. No more misery for Mr. Bug, may he rest in peace, and my little man looked pretty sad confused, his first encounter with death, poor bug.

Big Boy Bed

Today Malachi got one step closer to his big boy bed. We took the front part of his crib off and put the special guard on. Of course I had lots of help, once I finally got the right screwdriver Amanda decided a drill would work much better! I had lots of help I think the pictures speak for themselves!
Kay's got the right idea! Malachi is pretty intense!

What is in there?Auntie had the right idea!!

Starting the assembly process. What a stud!
Look!Enjoying the fruits of our labor.
